Villa privata - Zara
Just a few steps from Viale Zara, the villa, located in a residential complex in Milan, has been completely renovated, replacing the wooden windows and the iron veranda with new materials and innovative systems. These have helped give the home a fresh, modern and elegant touch.
Project Overview:
The project was developed using materials that could aesthetically replicate the pre-existing forms, improving their thermal and acoustic performance.
In the former villa of Enzo Iacchetti, the old windows and doors were replaced with a new minimalist steel-look aluminium profile and fitted with insect screens. On the second floor, on the east façade, there are two bow windows made in a steel-look style with an aluminium roof and a steel supporting structure clad in insulated sheet metal and fitted with a channel for water drainage. Sized and built with the same pre-existing geometries, thermal performance has been improved and they have been completed with external projecting insect screens.
The veranda undoubtedly has a clear visual impact within the overall project. It is made up of primary elements that form the load-bearing structure entirely in aluminium. Window and door frames with a minimalist steel-look profile and a glass roof were installed in a support system which, in addition to allowing it to be fixed in place, ensures watertightness. 99RThe gutter channel is fully integrated into the structural element and is an integral part of the system. Aluminium profiles were applied to the vertical infill to restore an Anglo-Saxon-inspired style, characterised both by the clean lines and by the contrast between the brown colour of the bricks and the matt RAL 9010 white of the aluminium profiles.
